What to Write Down on a Honeycomb Glue Trial Day

A honeycomb trial is two grades, one facing route, and a short record. Without the bag name, the water, the heater, and the stack time, the next batch cannot repeat the day that worked.

A honeycomb trial on /products/honeycomb-line-glue fails in the notebook more often than on the machine. The shift that ran well cannot tell the next shift which bag was opened, how much water went in, or whether the heater was on. Write it while the line is running. Eight lines are enough.

Before the mixer starts

Bag name, exactly as printed. Core-strip glue and facing glue are different grades. A trial that opens the wrong bag is not a result.

Facing route, if this batch is facing glue: water only, or starch and filler added by the plant. One route per batch.

Agreed starch type, filler type, and kilos, if the route is the second one. Leave the line blank if the route is water only. Do not invent a starch charge to fill the blank.

Paper on the core strips and on the liners. Mark white-top or coated liner. That mark decides whether /products/neutral-adhesive is in the trial as the appearance grade.

During the run, one line per section

Core: speed actually run, inside the about 10–200 m/min window; heater on or off; cold press or hot press.

Facing: speed actually run, inside the about 4–30 m/min window; heater on or off; cold press or hot press.

Dry speed that was ordered: slow, fast, quick, or instant. Film that was ordered: elastic or rigid.

Water actually weighed. Route A stays inside 30–40 kg per 25 kg bag. Route B stays inside 40–60 kg, two tanks. If someone adds water, write the new total. Do not drop route A under 30 kg.

Whether the coat laid evenly, and whether the board was dry enough to stack in the time you needed.

What the record is for

The next order should be able to repeat the day, or to change one thing. Changing water, heat, and grade in the same hour does not say which one fixed the face. If the liner yellowed, that is a separate line for the neutral grade, not a reason to rewrite the facing water.

What does not belong on this sheet

Paper-tube water figures. Corrugator concentrate ratios, including a 1:2 dry mix. The neutral grade’s 2–4 second set time, used as a target for cutting facing water. A single “line speed” that hides which section was measured.

Send the filled sheet with the sample request or with the complaint. Xuegong matches the next bags to the record: core grade, facing grade, and, when the liner has to stay light, the neutral grade. Keep “Honeycomb Facing Glue: Floor Mixing for the Two Routes” and “Honeycomb Lines: Heat, Press, and the Two Speed Windows” next to the mixer.
