Neutral Starch Adhesive for White Honeycomb Board and Thin Cartons

White-top liner, coated liner, and printed honeycomb board fail in a way a strength number will not catch: the sheet yellows, or the color shifts after the stack sits. That job is /products/neutral-adhesive. Xuegong developed China’s first neutral starch adhesive for honeycomb paper so thin honeycomb board could be used as carton board, and so honeycomb paper could go into work where appearance is part of the specification.

The neutral grade is not a substitute name for the honeycomb line glue. /products/honeycomb-line-glue still supplies the core-strip grade and the facing grade: core making about 10–200 m/min, face laminating about 4–30 m/min, cold or hot press, dry speed from slow to instant. Call the neutral grade when the liner has to stay light. Call the line glue for the production split between core and face.

What the neutral grade is specified to do

pH 6.5–7.5, so the paper does not discolor or yellow.

Viscosity 35–50 seconds on a Stein-Hall cup, held through the shift.

Solids at least 20% in the prepared adhesive.

Setting time 2–4 seconds at operating temperature.

Bond that stays stable as shop humidity moves.

White-top liner, coated liner, high-quality packaging, and printed packaging.

Those figures belong to the neutral grade. They are not the facing-glue water sheet. Facing glue, water only, is 25 kg of powder and 30–40 kg of room-temperature water. Facing glue with starch added by the plant is 25 kg and 40–60 kg, in two tanks. Do not pour the neutral grade’s set time onto that water sheet, and do not pour that water sheet onto the neutral grade.

Where plants actually use it on honeycomb

Thin honeycomb cartons, where the board is the box and the face is seen. Printed or white-faced export packs. Any honeycomb panel that will be judged on color after it has been stacked, not only on whether the nodes held during expansion. The same neutral chemistry is also used on sensitive paper outside honeycomb. On a honeycomb line, say so in the order note so the sample is the honeycomb appearance grade and not a corrugator neutral pulled from another page.

What to send when color is the reason for the sample

Liner: white-top, coated, or printed, and the paper grade.

Whether the complaint is yellowing, color shift after storage, or both.

Core speed and facing speed, so the production grades can be named beside the neutral grade.

Cold or hot press, and whether heat is on.

Whether the current facing step adds starch.

Xuegong can then separate the appearance grade from the core and facing grades instead of shipping one bag and hoping it covers both jobs.
